Dr. Carabasi’s family has a long philanthropic tradition dating back to 1948 focused on education, primarily working with the Philadelphia Archdiocese. FAST represents his effort to extend this focus to a broader group of students on a state-wide and national level as well as create new partnerships aimed at eliminating food and other basic needs insecurity.
He has been married for over 50 years to Kathleen Squires, Princeton ’74; they have one son. Dr. Carabasi also continues to avidly support Princeton annual giving and Princeton swimming as a team member during his undergraduate years.
Jim brings over 40 years of experience in business development to FAST and its clients. He has worked extensively with organizations of virtually all sizes spanning almost every geography and industry. His structured, methodical approach stems from three decades of working at ADP, a global leader in human capital management. This, coupled with his years at Oracle in the highly competitive software industry, provides him with the expertise to effectively lead fundraising initiatives.
Success as an individual contributor and leader is reflected in Jim’s many years of President’s Club achievements. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, he is known for his willingness to mentor peers, share best practices, and lead by example.
Jim earned a degree in Economics from Princeton University where he was also a member of their Division 1 football team. And, he continues to support his alma mater by interviewing applicants and as co-chair of his class’s annual giving campaign.
Jim and his wife, Ellie, have two married children and four grandchildren whom they enjoy visiting as often as possible. His other interests include golf, exercise, reading, and blues music.
